Premium Spray Products

PremiCote P79 is a water based rust inhibiting, low VOC primer developed for use to protect metal substrates. P79 is based on self cross-linking technologies that allow for low VOC levels along with greater corrosion resistance and adhesion properties. PremiCote P79 has excellent resistance to heat, cold, moisture and weathering. This primer dries quickly allowing for reduced time before elastomeric coating application.

Recommended Uses:

PremiCote P79 may be used as a prime coat over primarily metal surfaces but can be also be applied to a wide range of substrates which include, but are not limited to, wood, metal, concrete, masonry, various single ply membranes, spray polyurethane foam and most commonly used roof coatings. The dark red color speeds up drying and increases roof surface temperature before application of roof coatings. Low VOV levels allow for application in most air quality restrictive areas around the country.

Product Limitations: 

PremiCote P79 is a water based primer and is not freeze-thaw stable. It will freeze and become unusable at temperatures below 32°F. PROTECT FROM FREEZING DURING SHIPMENT AND STORAGE. Do not store material at temperatures below 45°F. Do not apply PremiCote P79 when ambient air and substrate temperatures fall below 45°F, or when inclement weather is forecast. Apply next coating as soon as possible after primer cures. Do not leave PremiCote P79 exposed to elements beyond 48 hours as weathering and dirt pick-up will compromise adhesive performance properties.

Material Handling: 

Installers should read and understand all technical and informational literature on PremiCote P79, including the Safety Data Sheets, prior to using this product. PremiCote P79 is designed for installation by a professional application company. Caution should be exercised to prevent mishap due to improper handling. Proper Storage of Raw Materials: 

Material storage temperatures should be 70°-85°F (21°-30°C) for several days prior to use and should not exceed 90°F (32°C). Cold materials can cause poor mixing, pump cavitation or other process problems due to higher viscosities at lower temperatures. Do not store where the containers will be exposed to rain, snow or high heat. Keep containers tightly closed when not in use and under dry air. Shelf life is twelve months from date of manufacture.
